Web-Based Training

Jewelers Mutual Insurance

The navigation for the JM University WBT (at top) starts out locked and opens up as the user passes through each section in order.

Along with the DVD versions of their training programs, Jewelers Mutual Insurance also wanted to broaden the potential audience reach of its safety instruction. To this end they asked us to convert each of their video training programs to Web-based training programs. Starting with their existing "Danger on the Road: Traveling with Jewelry" video training course, we created an interactive training program presenting the training in multiple segments utilizing animations, text, graphics, interactive exercises, and video clips.

As the user progresses through the training, each subsequent segment is unlocked and their progress is bookmarked into a server-side database. If the user chooses to leave at any time during the training, when they come back later they immediately pick up where they left off. After they've completed the training the users are presented with an exam. As the user moves through the 10-question exam, their answers are recorded, and upon completion they are given their final score. If they achieve a passing grade they are invited to print out a certificate of completion, a full-color, personalized certificate that prominently features their name and the date that they completed their training. The user's final score is also stored in the database for later review by Jewelers Mutual administrators.
