Have you ever had a coworker whose computer monitor was surrounded with little yellow sticky notes covering every square inch of space? If so, they need this promotional program created for the Coca-Cola Web site. With Coke Posties, users can type up their own virtual sticky notes and leave them stuck all over their computer desktop as constant reminders. Not only that, but users can resize the notes, reposition them on the screen, change the font, font size, and even choose from a variety of Coca-Cola branded backgrounds.
When users start up their computers each morning the notes appear just where they left them. When a user closes a Postie, it is deleted never to appear again. All Posties minimize when the Posties menu bar is minimized, making it easy to hide the Posties when users need to get to their desktop.
This app was used as an incentive to drive traffic to Coke's Web site as well as to create a viral marketing push as users sent the application to family and friends. The Posties menu also includes links to Coke's Web site.
The app was developed further as "Robot Posties" for rombots.com, a retro-robot-themed games and apps site. Robot Posties adds additional features such as font colors, image opacity, and the ability to change background colors.
