This project is part of a mobile show for Michelin tires which travels to events throughout the country. In this exhibit, consumers are treated to a truly immersive experience. They start by entering a booth, where they watch a video and experience riding on Michelin tires through a variety of terrains in a number of different vehicles including a mountain bike on a rough trail, a Grand Prix car on a race track, an SUV in the woods, a car in the city, and even the Space Shuttle coming in for a runway landing.
The video is seen from the point of view of each vehicle's driver, but what's most interesting about this project is that it's programmed with 5-channel surround-sound audio. One of the channels contains an enhanced low-pass version of the ambient audio that feeds directly into a rumble plate in the viewer's seat so as the video plays, viewers experience each and every bump, dip and jostle as if they were right there in the vehicle.
